Okay, This AI Thing is Officially Blowing My Mind 🤯 (and Maybe Helping Me Code Better?)

Okay, friends, gotta share something kinda crazy that’s been happening to me lately. For years, I’ve been a C++ devotee. My brain basically is C++. LeetCode? Let’s just say it felt like climbing Mount Everest in flip-flops. I’d spend ages just figuring out which algorithm to even start with. 😫

Then came the AI revolution at work. Suddenly, I was knee-deep in React, JavaScript, you name it. Languages I’d barely dabbled in. Honestly, I probably spent less time actively learning these new languages than I did with C++. And LeetCode? Forget about it. Barely touched it.

But here’s the kicker… Something WILD happened at a recent job interview. Whiteboard time. Cue the internal panic. 😱 Except… I nailed it. Not just okay, but nailed it. And get this – I was coding in JavaScript! I even switched to Python halfway through just to show off (okay, maybe a little bit 😂).

Seriously, WHAT?! How did that even happen?!

The only thing I can figure is that constantly using AI to generate code in these different languages somehow… unlocked something in my brain? Maybe it’s because I wasn’t getting bogged down in the nitty-gritty syntax details and could finally focus on the core logic of the algorithms. Like the AI was doing the grunt work of translation while I focused on the big picture.

It’s like I somehow “normalized” my C++ knowledge and “generalized” it across other languages (yes, I’m pulling tech jargon, deal with it 😉).
